Joan Rivers Retiring From Red Carpet, To Star In 'Joan And Melissa: Joan Knows Best?'

Joan Rivers Retiring From Red Carpet, Gets Reality Show

Joan Rivers is retiring from the red carpet, but you'll still get your share of foul-mouthed gossip -- she and daughter Melissa are getting their own reality show.

Speaking at the Television Critics Association press junket, both Rivers spoke about ending her legendary run on the red carpet, lamenting what the occasion has become.

"We've done that. It's not fun anymore," Melissa said (via The Hollywood Reporter), a sentiment Joan echoed. "When we were doing it, you could tell Julia Roberts, 'I hate your dress.'"

Now, with publicists abound, that's no longer possible, they said. Not that it's stopped them too much -- in August, Joan tweeted (unkindly) as Lindsay Lohan, and dissed Jay Leno and Johnny Carson in a 'Late Night' guest spot in July.

Luckily though, she won't have to worry about blowback any longer. The Rivers' can say all they want in their own house -- and make money off it. A reality show about Joan moving in Melissa is set to hit WEtv in late January.

Called 'Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best?,' the show will feature the two of them making their way through Hollywood and their own personal lives. They're ready to take on all celebs, including the cast of 'Jersey Shore,' whom they liken to trailer park trash.

Trailer park trash they would love to meet.

"We hope Snooki will come visit us. Are you kidding? We're whores!" the elder RIvers said.
