JODI ARIAS LIVE BLOG: Prosecutor Delves Into Defendant's Psyche (LIVE UPDATES)

The prosecutor in the Jodi Arias murder trial is expected to resume his rebuttal argument Tuesday, as he continues in his attempt to persuade the jury that Arias is guilty of premeditated murder.

Prosecutor Juan Martinez and the defense concluded their questioning of Dr. Janeen DeMarte on Thursday. DeMart, the states first rebuttal witness, testified she believes defense psychologist Dr. Richard Samuels’ opinion that Arias suffered from PTSD is unfounded. DeMarte said she interviewed Arias for about 12 hours and diagnosed her with Borderline Personality Disorder.

The state contends Arias killed her ex-boyfriend, 30-year-old Travis Alexander, in a jealous rage when she shot him, stabbed him nearly 30 times, and cut his throat from ear to ear in his Mesa, Ariz., home on June 4, 2008.

Her attorneys contend that Arias was physically and emotionally battered by Alexander and feared for her life when she killed him.

DeMarte testified she does not believe Arias was a victim of domestic violence, as the defense has suggested.

After answering 19 questions from the jury about her opinions on Arias', DeMarte concluded her testimony Thursday.

Martinez is expected to call his next witness Tuesday. There is speculation among talking heads in the media that he will call a former co-worker of Alexander's or a Wal-Mart employee.

Arias has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder. She could face a possible death sentence if convicted of that charge.

The trial is scheduled to resume at 12:30 p.m. Eastern time.
