The Unemployed is an interactive installation that visualizes world-wide unemployment by transforming statistics into animated figures who wander aimlessly across the screen. This project is also part of my app "Urban Rhythms" and was last included in the year long exhibition "Interaction I/O/I: The Senses of Machines" at Dissney Hub Museum in Barcelona. When a person traverses the space where the display is projected their image is captured by a camera directing the animated figures to fill their silhouettes. The background image randomly cycles through all the countries in the world allowing viewers to metaphorically compare and contrast the number of unemployed in each country.
