Joe Biden Took His ’67 Corvette Out For A Spin, And It Was Incredible

“I shouldn’t say this on television ― I like speed.”

Vice President Joe Biden isn’t ashamed to admit that when it comes to driving, he has a bit of a lead foot.

Biden took his 1967 Corvette Stingray convertible out for a spin for an episode of the upcoming season of show, “Jay Leno’s Garage.” His drive with Leno was only the third time in the past seven years that the vice president has been able to get behind the wheel of the car, Biden said in a promotion for the show released Thursday.

“I shouldn’t say this on television ― I like speed,” Biden told Leno.

He got the car as a wedding gift from his father who owned a car dealership, Biden said. His dad’s job also allowed Biden to get a new car for every senior prom. He also revealed the classy model of the first car he had a date in ― a 1951 Plymouth convertible.

“It wasn’t like it was today, but the first date you made out in the car, you parked,” Biden said. “Girls I dated, were those Catholic schools girls, their mother wouldn’t let em go.”
