Joe Biden Uses Long-Running Joke About Donald Trump To Hype Infrastructure Plan

President Joe Biden referenced ex-President Donald Trump’s much-mocked, overpromised and underdelivered “Infrastructure Week” — which became something of a running joke throughout the Trump era — to promote his own plan to revitalize America’s crumbling roads, bridges and public buildings.

“I’ve heard from everybody all across the country about the need for infrastructure,” Biden said during a White House address Friday in which he hyped his $2 trillion American Jobs Plan that he unveiled earlier in the week.

“How many times have we heard, ‘This is Infrastructure Week,’ over the last four years?” Biden continued. “About every second week is ‘Infrastructure Week,’ but no infrastructure was built.”

Biden then elaborated on how his plan would differ from that of his predecessor, spelling out the proposed investments in VA hospitals, research and development and other sectors.
