Joe Biden On Kagan Opposing School Military Recruiters: 'She Was Right' (VIDEO)

Vice President Joe Biden appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America" on Tuesday to discuss Elena Kagan's nomination to the Supreme Court.

Some highlights:

On Kagan opposing military recruiters at Harvard Law: "She was right. ... All during that period, she has reached out to veterans in the law school, she has been at promotions ceremonies, she's recognized veterans coming to the law school. So this is not a single bit of anti-military bias. She does think, and I agree with her, that the don't-ask-don't-tell policy is a very bad policy."

On Kagan's lack of judicial experience not being a "deal-breaker": "Well, it's not a deal-breaker. Thank God it isn't. You had Justice Rehnquist, he never was a judge. He didn't do trial work. You had Justice Jackson, Justice Marshall, Justice Hugo Black. Thank God there's been people other than Circuit Court of Appeals justices. I think it's a great asset she has, and she is unquestionably academically qualified. The Dean of Harvard Law School, a tenured professor at the University of Chicago... They refer to the Solicitor General as the tenth justice. This is a woman who has argued before the Supreme Court. She is supremely qualified."

On what he whispered to Kagan before her remarks on Monday: ABC's Robin Roberts asked, "First of all, was it appropriate for morning television? And can you share what you said?" Biden responded, "It was totally appropriate, and I said, 'you did a great job.'"
