Joe Giudice Admits He's Afraid Of Prison On 'RHONJ'

A surprisingly vulnerable Joe Giudice emerged on the latest episode of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey." He confessed to his wife, Teresa, that he was scared about the idea of going to prison. But, of course, this is Joe. Even vulnerable, he was aggressive and cursing like a sailor.

“I don’t belong there and I don’t f*cking want to go there, but you know, you never know what the f*ck could happen," he said. ”It’s not like I want to be away from you or my kids. You know what I mean? That’s the last thing I want to do, be away from my kids. That’s what keeps me going every day.”

Buddy TV's Jennifer Lind-Westbrook found the scene hard to watch, seeing as viewers now know that the couple was indicted on 39 counts of fraud and related crimes after filming for the season wrapped. “Teresa's steadfast belief that her husband is truthful beyond reproach is even harder for viewers to believe now," she wrote. "Especially, since her own ethics are being called into question.”

Over at The Stir, Julie Ryan Evans found herself feeling something for Joe she never expected. "I've never had much, if any, sympathy for the guy, but tonight I felt some twinges of it," she admitted. "If he did the crime, then he needs to do the time, but it still was hard to watch that fear in him." She then immediately backed off a bit, speculating that he could just be spinning the story to try and get some sympathy while the cameras were still there.

The threat -- and ultimately reality -- of legal troubles for the Giudice family continues on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" every Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
