Joe Montana Calistoga Estate, Villa Montana, Drops Asking Price By $14 Million (PHOTOS)

Good morning, sports fans, and welcome back to reality. If Sunday's heartbreaking loss left you more than a little nostalgic for the glory days, have we got a treat for you.

Introducing: Joe Montana's wine country estate, Villa Montana, now at $14 million less than the asking price.

Now don't get us wrong, it's still $35 million. But if the San Francisco Giants end up caving to Tim Lincecum's demands, that would be less than two years of salary for him, which is relatively a steal. (By the way, Tim, every self-respecting Bay Area sports legend ends up with a Napa/Sonoma house and his own wine label. Better get started on that.)

One look at the classic estate, however, and $35 million actually seems quite reasonable. The 10,000-square-foot home is on 500 acres of land in Calistoga and includes three bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms, a guesthouse and caretaker's unit, a private pond, a bocce ball court, an olive farm, a skeet-shooting range, a professional grade equestrian stable, a full-size basketball court and a sun-drenched pool surrounded by flagstone and offering an unbelievable view of Knights Valley.

We would recommend a new decorator (that's a lot of faux Tuscan), but for anyone throwing down $35M, we have a feeling it won't be a problem.

But the estate's most unbelievable feature is indisputably the land. Within the property's expansive boundaries lie lush forests, rolling grassland, enormous olive trees and views worth at least an extra million. And if your wine country fantasy isn't complete without a vineyard, well there is always that extra 499 acres of untouched Calistoga property.
