John Barrowman Joins 'Gilded Lilys' And More Casting News

John Barrowman's Next TV Role: It Isn't 'Torchwood'!

John Barrowman has joined the cast of "Gilded Lilys." What does this mean for "Torchwood"?

According to TV Guide, Barrowman will play Julius Ashford Lily, the favorite son and "golden boy" of the Lily family. The period drama from "Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes tells the story of the first luxury hotel built in New York City in 1895.

Barrowman previously starred in BBC's "Torchwood" as Captain Jack Harkness. The show wrapped up Season 4 on Starz in September.

A source close to the situation told HuffPost TV if "Torchwood" does get another season on Starz, it definitely would not be in the next year. "Torchwood" creator Russell T. Davies was at work on new TV projects, but has recently stepped back from the work to care for his partner.
