John Galliano Spring 2012 Walks In Paris Without Its Namesake Designer (PHOTOS)

PICS: Models Leave Little To The Imagination At John Galliano

Sheer, sheer and more sheer.

That was the theme, it seems, for the John Galliano Spring 2012 collection, which walked Paris Fashion Week today.

The collection was not designed by John Galliano, of course, as the designer was ousted from his eponymous label after his anti-Semitic slur scandal earlier this year (of which he was finally found guilty last month).

Instead, Galliano's longtime right-hand man Bill Gaytten created the collection, just as he did for Christian Dior Couture this summer and Christian Dior ready-to-wear on Friday.

And like on Friday, Gaytten chose several shocking looks, including dresses with sheer tops, sheer bottoms and sheer everything-in-between. Other ensembles featured flouncy, layered skirts, harking back to the feminine drama Galliano loved.

Topping the looks off were floppy, flat-topped hats (a far cry from the plastic, space-age toppers of Gaytten's couture collection).

It's unlikely Gaytten will get the top spot at Dior, which Galliano also vacated post-scandal. But will Gaytten maintain his post at John Galliano?
