John McCain Calls Heckler A 'Jerk' After Memorial Day Speech Interruption (VIDEO)

While speaking to a crowd in California on Monday, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) broke from his remarks when he was heckled by a protester, who was escorted out of the event after the interruption.

The Arizona Republican drew cheers from his audience when he called the man a "jerk" in resuming his speech. Lemon Grove Patch reports:

McCain was interrupted by a man in the audience 4 minutes into his own remarks, and the person was hustled away by Secret Service.

The heckler, wearing a black T-shirt and jacket, had mentioned the USS Liberty, the American spy ship attacked by Israel in 1967 and whose crew suffered 34 deaths.

Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney also spoke at the Memorial Day gathering in San Diego.
