Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said some Republicans resist President Barack Obama and his proposal for a U.S. military strike in Syria because they aren't big fans of the president.
"I think there's probably some... that [oppose it] just because they dislike President Obama," McCain said.
McCain appeared on CNN's "New Day" to talk the situation in Syria and express doubts over a diplomatic deal on chemical weapons.
“I think what they are pursuing is a laudable goal, but there’s no real way to achieve it, number one," McCain said. "Number two is that you now give Putin a major place in this whole scenario and in the Middle East.”
McCain also criticized the deal Saturday, saying others would view the deal as “an act of provocative weakness” by America.
