John Of God Gives Oprah His Definition Of God, Life After Death (VIDEO)

WATCH: How A Controversial Faith Healer Defines ‘God’

What happens when we die? Is there life after death? Where is heaven? What is God? These are all profound and complicated questions, but John of God has an answer for each of them. In between his work performing what some believe are miracles healing the sick and dying, the controversial faith healer sat down with Oprah for a new episode of “Oprah's Next Chapter" and shared his spiritual beliefs.

“We do not believe in death,” John of God tells Oprah in the clip, through a translator. “We believe in God.”

“So what happens when we die?” Oprah asks him.

“Eternal life,” John of God answers.

Heaven, he explains, is not a physical place. “[Heaven is] in all the hearts of those who respect God above all else,” he tells Oprah. “God is everywhere.”

His definition of "God" is even simpler: “God is love,” he says.

Tune in to watch the full episode with John of God on “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” airing Sunday, March 17, at 9 p.m. ET on OWN.
