Republican John Ratcliffe was elected to represent Texas' 4th congressional district in the midterm elections on Tuesday.
Ratcliffe defeated incumbent Rep. Ralph Hall in the GOP primary in May. Hall, a World War II veteran, is currently the oldest-serving member of Congress.
