The Heart and Stroke Walk is a family-friendly, non-competitive 5K open to all ages and abilities. Whether you walk or run, you'll have fun and make a difference.

On average, someone in the US dies of heart disease or stroke every 40 seconds - men, women, and children. These are individuals that leave behind loved ones, and the impact in huge. The great news is that in the last four decades, we've reduced mortality by 70 percent! We can't stop now. Changing the rank of heart disease is closer than ever because of our community's dedication to a healthier life and events like the Heart and Stroke Walk. Every step you take will contribute to a healthier heart, and every donation will help improve the cardiovascular health of people in the Puget Sound. So let's rally and Get 1 Done.

Walk as a survivor or in honor/memory of a loved one. Or walk simply because you want to Get 1 Done! Survivors of heart disease and stroke get honorary red caps; child survivors get Heart Hero capes.

In addition to heart-pumping exercise, the events will have music, interactive booths from sponsors and the American Heart Association, a fun kids zone, and healthy snacks. Proceeds benefit the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association and our mission to build healthier lives by funding innovative cardiovascular research, fighting for stronger public health policies, and providing lifesaving tools and information.

To register for the walk, visit SouthSoundHeartWalk.org or PugetSoundHeartWalk.org. Registration is free.
