At a press conference on October 1, 2009 I was joined by a coalition of elected officials and advocates, to announce the launch of Kill the Drill, a campaign to voice opposition to any hydraulic fracturing in the city's upstate watershed, which supplies 90 percent of New York City's drinking water. That day, I asked for Governor David Paterson to hold a public hearing in NYC, which was later scheduled for November 10th at 6:30pm at Stuyvesant High School, 345 Chambers Street.
