Stewart Calls Bloomberg 'A Soda-Hating Leprechaun Who Purchased The City With His Pot Of Gold'

The night before New Yorkers go to the polls to elect a new mayor, Jon Stewart took a look at the not-heated-at-all race between Democrat Bill de Blasio and Republican Joe Lhota. More importantly, Stewart introduced the segment with a fairly epic dig at the outgoing mayor, Michael Bloomberg.

"For the past dozen years, we here in New York have been under the control of a soda-hating leprechaun who, as you know, purchased the city with his pot of gold."

Stewart went on to make a few more tiny-man jokes before acknowledging that he and Bloomberg are exactly the same height.

Watch the segment above, which culminates in John Oliver standing next to an "implausibly tall" Bill de Blasio. Looks like they just don't make New York mayors normal-sized.
