Jon Stewart Diagnoses President Obama With A Case Of 'MSNBCitis'

Jon Stewart Thinks Obama Has A Case Of 'MSNBCitis'

Unfortunately, "Symptoms include cancelation."

Jon Stewart opened Monday night's episode of "The Daily Show" with an examination of President Obama's word choice when it comes to speaking about ISIS. His reluctance to use terms such as "radical Islam" or "Islamic extremism" in discussions about conflicts in the Middle East has conservative presenters on Fox News accusing him of not telling it like it is.

The president has explained how he makes a conscious effort not to associate terrorist groups with religion, or imply that the U.S. is at war with Islam, but that hasn't put an end to the scrutiny over syntax. Stewart isn't surprised. To him, it sounds all too much like a case of “MSNBCitis.”

"Obama thinks if he just sits down and explains things to us in a calm, reasoned, slightly annoyed tone, everyone will get it," Stewart said. "It's what the medical community calls 'MSNBCitis.'"
