Jon Stewart was understandably aghast on Tuesday's "Daily Show" at the glibness with which former Obama press secretary Robert Gibbs, enjoying his cushy new role as MSNBC contributor, admitted to lying about the U.S. drone program in his former job.
Gibbs revealed on "Up with Chris Hayes" that he was told to never acknowledge that the drone program existed. "So you've copped to lying, Gibbs," Stewart exclaimed, "...all that's left now is to distance yourself from the lying."
Which Mr. Gibbs did with aplomb, maybe not so much dignity. Watch the clip above and let us know if you agree that there's some bizarre conflict of interest going on here.
