Jonah Goldberg Chokes Up Over Andrew Breitbart's Death (VIDEO)

WATCH: Conservative Writer Breaks Down Over Breitbart's Death

Conservative writer Jonah Goldberg got emotional talking about Andrew Breitbart's death during an appearance on Fox News on Thursday.

Breitbart, a prominent conservative commentator and publisher, died suddenly early Thursday morning. He was 43 years old.

Goldberg, who had been on-air earlier, gave his reaction to Fox News' Bill Hemmer shortly after the news broke online. His voice trembled as he said he was "stunned," and recalled his long friendship with Breitbart since the 1990s. His eyes welled up as he continued.

"He was one of the most fearless people I ever knew," Goldberg said, choking up. "It's hard news to take."

He choked up again offering his condolences to Breitbart's wife, and pointing out that he and Breitbart were the same age.

"I probably shouldn't have come on," he said.
