Jonathan Demme Optioned Stephen King's JFK Assassination Book '11/22/63'

Stephen King Novel Now Big Hollywood Movie?

We've seen Stephen King's name in embossed, blocky letters across dozens of paperbacks; he is the ubiquitous thriller novelist.

And his newest novel, does not seem like it will disappoint. King's time-travel tome, "11/22/63," centers on an historical thriller, the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

Hitting store this November, the book's protagonist is an English teacher who travels through time to stop the fated assassination. Following in the fashion of his other work, this 1000-page book will not only be in print, it is making its way to the big screen.

The Hollywood Reporter announced that Jonathan Demme has optioned the rights to King's upcoming novel. The Oscar-winning filmmaker is set to write, direct and produce the adaptation and King, if it all goes through, is slotted to be the executive producer.
