Jonnie Marbles is all of a sudden a household name.
The Windsor-based activist and comedian -- identified as Jonathan May-Bowles -- made headlines Tuesday morning when he stood up from the gallery at the end of a Parliamentary hearing and attacked media mogul Rupert Murdoch with a shaving cream pie.
What do we know about Marbles? Well, he's definitely on Twitter, where he describes himself as an "Activist, comedian, father figure and all-round nonsense." And he must know a good tweet opportunity when he sees one, judging by this short comment just a moment before launching a pie at Murdoch's face.

Marbles' Twitter feed links to his blog -- "Anarch*ish*" -- which contains videos and blog posts running down his political views because, as he says, "the state's not gonna smash itself."
He's also affiliated with UK Uncut, an activist organization known for creative protesting of tax evasion and government cutbacks. UK Uncut, however, was quick to point out that it was not responsible for the Murdoch pie-in-the-face.
Marbles also has the UK Uncot logo on his Twitter icon.

So clearly Marbles has some strong political feelings, which is why you won't be surprised to find this brief selection titled "Why I'm Burning My Ballot," in which the comedian uses a random selection of LEGO figures to explain why he decided to incinerate his voter's card rather than cast a ballot in a recent election.
