Fusion host Jorge Ramos said Monday that presidential candidate Donald Trump is "spreading hate" when he talks about immigrants.
"What he is trying to sell to the American public simply doesn't work," Ramos told John Berman, who was filling in for Cooper. "How is he going to deport 11 million people -- by bus, by plane? Is he going to bring the army to do that?"
Ramos said Trump's deportation plan would cost an estimated $12,500 per immigrant, meaning the reality TV star's strategy to force 11 million undocumented immigrants out of the country would cost an estimated $137 billion.
Trump's proposed wall on the U.S.-Mexico border is "absurd," Ramos added, given that "almost 40 percent off all immigrants come by plane and overstay their visas."
When asked about his previous comments calling Trump the "loudest voice of intolerance, hatred, and division" in the U.S., Ramos doubled down: "When you say immigrants from Mexico are criminals and rapists, isn't that spreading hate?"
