Jose Mourinho Gouges Tito Vilanova In Face During Fight At End Barcelona Vs. Real Madrid Match

Real Madrid Manager Gouges Eye Of Barcelona Coach During Brawl

Although the latest installment of el clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid featured mesmerizing goals and relentless effort it was marred by a fight that broke out in the final moments.

Coming shortly after Lionel Messi netted the game-winner with a powerful volley, the fracas was triggered by a particularly violent and needless tackle by Madrid's Marcelo on Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas. Before Barcelona's prodigal son could hit the field, the benches were cleared.

Amidst a flurry of pushing, shoving and slapping that would have looked familiar to baseball fans, the Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho calmly strode up behind Barcelona assistant coach Tito Vilanova and appeared to plunge a finger into his eye.

At worst, it was an eye gouge on an unsuspecting man, and, at best, it was still an unwarranted pull or pinch to the face of a colleague. When Vilanova turns angrily toward Mourinho after the sneak attack, a thin smile creases the self-assured visage of the Madrid man. Mourinho then purses his lips, seemingly mocking his victim's anger.

Known as "The Special One" and widely considered one of the top coaches in the game,Mourinho courts controversy like an ardent lover. After his side lost to Barcelona, despite a superlative effort, he went on a post-match rant, tagging the Catalan giants as a "small club."
