NFL free agent Joseph Randle was arrested in front of the Kansas Star Casino shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday night, charged with misdemeanor assault of a law enforcement officer, battery, disorderly conduct and more.

A Kansas Gaming and Racing Commission enforcement agent told TMZ that an inebriated Randle was first asked to leave the premises when he became “belligerent on the casino floor” -- a belligerency that included assaulting one of the casino’s security officers. While Randle did leave for a time, he soon tried to enter back into the casino, at which point he attempted once more to fight an officer.

Randle was released from the Dallas Cowboys on Nov. 3, just days after team owner Jerry Jones stated that he was worried about Randle’s mental health, as the 23-year-old tried to “work through … [personal] issues.” He had started the first six games of Dallas’ season prior to his release.

This is not the first time Randle’s clashed with the law. In October 2014, he was caught shoplifting cologne and underwear from a department store in Frisco, Texas.

As of Wednesday morning, the running back is still being held at a local jail
on $25,000 bail.
