Josh Brolin Might've Just Dissed Ryan Gosling

Brolin didn't name names, but it sure sounds like the Canadian star.

Josh Brolin has no time for faux Hollywood tough guys.

In the latest issue of Man of the World, Brolin criticized young actors who buy torn-up leather jackets and put on fake accents.

“I remember a guy I worked with who was from Ontario, but he talked like De Niro,” Brolin said, per Us Weekly. “I was like, 'Holy s**t, he’s actually doing De Niro. Does he know that I know? I’m not even listening to what he’s saying.' It’s fascinating to me.”

While Brolin didn't name names, it's worth noting Gosling, 34, was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. He and Brolin co-starred in 2013's "Gangster Squad."

Brolin is not the first person to notice the "Notebook" actor's accent. Jezebel once called it the "inexplicable gift that keeps on giving" and Vulture compared it to "a mumbly dock worker from deep Long Island."

Gosling himself has even admitted it's a put-on.

"As a kid I decided that a Canadian accent doesn’t sound tough," he told W magazine back in 2010 while promoting "Blue Valentine." "I thought guys should sound like Marlon Brando. So now I have a phony accent that I can’t shake, so it’s not phony anymore. I’m going for the Madonna thing, the Lady Gaga thing -- a phony accent that becomes your trademark."
