White House Press Secretary Totally Ducks Mika Brzezinski's Ebola Czar Question

White House Press Secretary Completely Ducks Mika Brzezinski

Wondering why President Obama selected Ron Klain as Ebola czar last Friday? You might not want to go to White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest for an answer.

During an interview Tuesday on "Morning Joe," Earnest totally dodged co-host Mika Brzezinski's question on why Klain was picked for the new role. Citing a recent Politico article, Brzezinski asked Earnest if the appointment of Klain might have had something to do with politics and strategy, rather than his emergency response experience.

"Why was he chosen for the job?" she asked.

Can't get more straightforward than that. But still, Earnest managed to avoid answering the question entirely, opting to list a bunch of hospitals and doctors instead.

"The fact of the matter is, the response to this situation has been much broader than just medicine," he said. "Right now at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, at the NIH right up here in Maryland, and at Emery Hospital down in Atlanta, we have doctors who are currently treating Ebola patients right now. They’re doing that successfully, those patients are healing, some of them have already recovered. They’re doing that without exposing any significant risks to the health workers there."

Uh...thanks?
