Josh Kelley plans on writing more lullabies.
The singer/songwriter sat down for an interview with HitFix.com, talking his pop-to-country crossover, his wife Katherine Heigl and their 2 1/2 year old daughter Naleigh.
While Kelley is writing hits, it turns out his little girl is his toughest critic. He wrote the lullaby song "Naleigh Moon" for her, but Nickelodeon, it seems, has him beat.
“Right now, my pretty song gets beat out by the Wiggles and Yo Gabba Gabba,” Kelley said.
Still, having a daughter is a great inspiration for his writing: "[As] I was writing for the album, we adopted a little baby girl and then I had everything under the sun to write about. I love being a dad and writing about that.”
So, the big question: will he have more to write about?
“We’re definitely going to give Naleigh a little friend. She needs a buddy,” Kelley says. Whether they'll adopt again or have a biological child, Heigl said she wasn't sure back in October.
"We still talk about having biological children as well--I'm not ruling anything out," Heigl told Redbook. "Adoption has been a part of my life and a part of my family, so it was how I wanted to start. It felt natural and right to me."
