"Why do you always write these strong women characters?"
That's the question that reporters ask "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" creator and "The Avengers" writer Joss Whedon during almost every interview. In his 2006 acceptance speech for an Equality Now award, Whedon shared some of his many (incredible) responses, including "How is this even a question? Why aren't you asking a hundred other guys why they don't?"
Whedon went on to explain his personal views on gender equality: "Equality is like gravity. We need it to stand on this earth as men and women."
We always knew we loved Joss Whedon -- now we know exactly why.
