Joy Behar's Last Day On 'The View': August 9

Joy Behar's Last Day On 'The View' Announced

Joy Behar's last day on "The View" will be August 9, ABC revealed on Thursday.

The network said that the show will look back on the co-host's most memorable moments in a tribute called "This Was Your Life on 'The View' Joy Behar." Behar's farewell episode will feature appearances by Regis Philbin, Meredith Vieira, Joan Rivers, Alan Alda, Tony Bennett and other surprise guests, and musical performances.

Behar taped the final show on Tuesday, the New York Post reported. She told the newspaper that she was meeting with CNN, and also wanted to do a one-woman Broadway show and write another book.

When asked who she would like to see as the next co-host of "The View," she said, "I really don’t care who takes my place."

Behar announced in March that she was leaving the show after sixteen years and is the only original co-host remaining besides Barbara Walters. Her exit is just one of several shake-ups for "The View": Elisabeth Hasselbeck left in July, Jenny McCarthy is joining the show in September, and Walters has announced that she will retire in May 2014.
