Jude left "A Gun." According to Deadline.com, actor Jude Law has dropped out of the film "Jane Got A Gun" just one day after director Lynne Ramsay quit the project. Law was signed to replace Michael Fassbender, who left "Jane Got A Gun" earlier in March after what were rumored to be creative differences with Ramsay. No replacement has been named, but Law's departure throws the film's Thursday start date into question. Natalie Portman and Joel Edgerton are still attached to star in the leading roles.

The indie Western was thrust into the news cycle on Tuesday, when Deadline.com revealed that Ramsay ("We Need To Talk About Kevin") quit the production on its first day by not showing up to work. Producers scrambled to find a replacement and landed on "Warrior" director Gavin O'Connor, who was hired earlier on Tuesday.

Producer Scott Steindorff has been vocal about his displeasure with Ramsay, but as yet the director hasn't shared her side of the story. Ramsay's former manager, Steindorff's daughter Jessica Steindorff, told HuffPost Entertainment that she was no longer representing the director.

"My father Scott Steindorff prevails under extreme amounts of stress and the show will go on," Steindorff said to HuffPost Entertainment via email on Tuesday. "Sorry, but in this town it's family first."
