'Judge Judy' Isn't Going Anywhere

"Judge Judy" isn't going anywhere!

CBS Television Distribution has renewed Judy Sheindlin's reality small claims drama through 2017. The new deal will keep Sheindlin presiding over her TV courtroom for a landmark 21 years.

"Twenty-one is a terrific number," Judge Judy said in a statement. "It's when you officially become an adult, it's a winning hand in blackjack and it's the number of seasons we will have hit in 2017. I am so fortunate to have a job that I still love, working with a staff I respect and with a company who is at the top of their game."

According to CBS, "Judge Judy," which is now in its seventeenth season, averages 9 million viewers daily. It has been the No. 1 rated show in daytime for the last three seasons.

"We are grateful to Judy for her continued unparalleled ratings and her one-of-a-kind style," Armando Nunez, president and CEO of CBS Global Distribution, said in a statement. "She is truly the 'Queen of Daytime' and we couldn't be happier that she will continue her trademark sense of justice and humor with CTD and her stellar station line up through 2017."
