Julia Louis Dreyfus Goes From Seinfeld Sidekick To Sleek Red Carpet Star (PHOTOS)

For one, girl can work a pomp like nobody's business.

When we think of Elaine Benes from "Seinfeld," our fashion nostalgia siren levels are off the charts. Those floral dresses, the '90s power suits, that pomp...

Julia Louis-Dreyfus didn't just hold her own in the male-dominated world of that iconic television series, but she also held down the style fort throughout the rest of her career. After landing a coveted spot in the "Saturday Night Live" cast in 1982, 21-year-old Julia was thrust into the spotlight and began paving the way for future funny (and stylish!) ladies like Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

Of course, her most defining moments came during her nine-season stint on "Seinfeld" -- like we said, those curls are practically iconic. But Julia managed to dodge that pesky "Seinfeld" curse and go on to find more television success on "The New Adventures of Old Christine" and 2012's "Veep" (for which she won an Emmy). Along the way, the mother of two also found a sleek, fashion-forward sense of style. Who knew Elaine had such fantastic curves?

In honor of Ms. Louis-Dreyfus' 52nd birthday on Jan. 13, we're taking a look back at some of her best sartorial moments on and off the red carpet.
