Julianne Moore's Frank Response To Aging In DuJour Magazine

Don't Ask Julianne Moore This Question

Thank you, Julianne Moore.

In one of many frank moments during an interview with DuJour magazine, the actress drew attention to a line of questioning female celebs field regularly.

"Men aren't asked about age," Moore told the interviewer. "Men aren't asked about their children. Not that these things aren't important, but I do feel like it becomes reductive, when a woman's life becomes, 'Talk to me about your kids and how you feel about plastic surgery.' "

Furthermore the 52-year-old actress finds all the talk around aging to be "boring," she went on.

"Our fear of aging is really a fear of dying; aging is a physical manifestation of decay, and I think that is what's so upsetting to most people."

Moore must be a little bit fearless then, foregoing the Hollywood party line of aging being something to keep at bay by any means necessary. When talking about her L'Oreal partnership, she says: "It's not about being beautiful for your age. It's about being beautiful at your age."

So we have to say it again: Thank you, Julianne Moore, for telling it like it is.
