Julie Chen Attacks 'The View': It's 'Lost Its Way' With Jenny McCarthy

WOW: Julie Chen ATTACKS 'The View'

It's official: the feud between "The Talk" and "The View" is raging.

It wasn't raging when "Talk" host Julie Chen warned the rival show not to try to imitate her own show. It wasn't even raging when Sharon Osbourne said that almost all of the "View" hosts could "go f--k themselves." (She later apologized.) But, on Wednesday, Chen flatly said that "The View" had "lost its way" and made a big mistake hiring Jenny McCarthy.

Ouch!

Chen first made the comments while speaking to Howard Stern, who asked her if "The View," which has undergone a dramatic makeover this season, was wrong to have brought McCarthy into the fold.

"Yes," Chen said, according to the Wrap. “Because what made ‘The View’ so popular and so good was that you had five different women from different walks of life discussing politics. And when they … whatever happened … when Joy left and when Elisabeth left and they got Jenny in, I think they were trying to lighten the mood at the table … more gossip, more fun, more laughs...what put them on the map and made them good and famous — they don’t do that anymore.”

Speaking to "Extra" later in the day, Chen upped the stakes.

"Jenny's personality is more suited for a show like 'The Talk,'" she said. "It seems like they don't know what to do with her talent, and the show has lost its way."

We eagerly await the reply from "The View."
