I join reviewers Liz Manashil and Sean Wright to discuss the film, which is billed as being "from the world of Cars."
Although the film is from a story idea by Pixar's John Lasseter, Planes is not a Pixar film. Rather, this is a production from DisneyToon Studios, a direct-to-DVD division designed to service Disney's Consumer Products department.
Originally slated to be direct-to-DVD, at some point it was decided that Planes would get a theatrical release. Made on a budget of $50 million, the film earned $24 million its opening weekend. Fasten your seat belts and watch the review below:
