'Justified' Premiere: Dewey Crowe Has A Big Payday In Court

'Justified' Premiere Shows Dewey Crowe's Big Payday

Raylan Givens is back with the Season 5 premiere of "Justified," and it looks like he's going to have his plate full this season with another family of redneck crooks. It worked great back in Season 2 -- that's the season Margo Martindale stole the show -- and it could work well again. The season opened with Dewey Crowe getting his day in court, as well as a huge settlement. Apparently, taking all that abuse from Raylan over the years can pay off, even if it did take Dewey a minute to realize it.

"Mr. Crowe, a settlement offer of $20,000 has already been made. The U.S. Attorney has modified it to three hundred," Judge Reardon told him, but Dewey was disgusted by this offer. "You telling me all I get is $300?" he said in shock. "$300,000 you nitwit," the judge shot back.

"Justified" always balances its humor and darkness beautifully, and it was in fine form this hour. TV.com's Tim Surette admitted he's looking forward to seeing Raylan square off against Dewey's family. "While repetition is often looked down upon," he wrote of the similiarity in structure to Season 2, "I'm not the slightest bit worried about pitting Raylan against another family of hillbilly criminal masterminds because it worked so well the first time around and the 'Justified' writing staff does amazing things with dysfunctional-yet-strong family relationships."

Season 5 of "Justified" airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EST on FX.
