Justin Bieber's Tattoo Artist Explains The Singer's New Face Tat

The singer previously said he would get a face tattoo when he was older.

Justin Bieber's new tattoo serves one main "Purpose" -- his faith.

The "Sorry" singer recently got a tattoo on his face after stopping at the West 4 Tattoo Parlor in New York City last week. The man behind the new ink, a tattoo artist named Jonboy, told Us Weekly about what the tattoo means for Justin

"Justin came in last night and decided on a small cross near the corner of his eye," Jonboy said. "It represents his journey in finding purpose with God."

Bieber, who is performing across the nation with his Purpose tour, showed off his new ink on Instagram:

Jonboy also shared a picture of himself with the singer, sporting his tiny new tattoo:

In a previous interview with GQ magazine, Bieber said that he would consider getting a face tattoo when he was in his 40s or 50s.

"I think if they're done right, they could be cool, but nothing like super crazy all over the face," the singer said, before admitting he might get one when he's "really old."

Bieber said he might get "one above his eyebrow" if it was really small, and it looks like his placement choice was pretty on point.
