Kabul Hit Ahead Of Afghan Poll

At least seven people, including two UN workers, have been killed in a suicide car bomb attack on a Western military convoy east of the Afghan capital.

The bombing on Tuesday along the major Jalalabad-Kabul road, the scene of frequent Taliban attacks, marks an increase in raids just two days before Afghanistan's presidential election.

Aleem Siddique, a spokeman for the UN mission in Kabul, said that a UN vehicle had been caught up in the strike, which targeted members of Nato's International Security Assistance Force (Isaf).
