Kanye West's 'Anchorman 2' Cameo Went Great, Says Director Adam McKay

What Kanye Was Really Like On The Set Of 'Anchorman'

Possible spoilers ahead regarding the upcoming comedy "Anchorman: The Legend Continues."

What was Kanye West really like on the set of "Anchorman: The Legend Continues"? As it turns out, totally normal. (Did you expect anything else?)

"He was great, and he was funny. He came up with a couple good lines on his own," director Adam McKay told MTV News in a recent interview. "We did our usual style of do the written line, and then I would throw out alternate lines and we'd improvise. He was completely cool and game."

West filmed a brief cameo appearance in "Anchorman 2" back in May. He was spotted on the film's Atlanta set wearing an afro wig and brandishing a hockey stick as a weapon. West appears in the "Anchorman" news team brawl, a likely call back to the cameo-filled throw-down in "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy."

"He even showed up for an extra quarter of a day where he had no speaking lines," McKay said of West. "He was just kind of in the group fight sequence, and he was having so much fun that he came back to do that."

Kanye isn't the only rap star in "Anchorman 2"; Drake was also spotted on the film's set last month, though his scenes were filmed in New York. The sequel, due out on Dec. 20, is a star-studded affair: Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Kristen Wiig, Christina Applegate, Harrison Ford, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are all set to appear.
