Kanye West's BBC Radio 1 Interview: 'I'm The No. 1 Rock Star On The Planet'

'I'm The No. 1 Rock Star On The Planet'

Mark this as the latest entry in the book of ultimate Kanye West quotes.

The "Yeezus" rapper seemed to be in a humble mood when he appeared on Kris Jenner's talk show last month, but, to no one's surprise, that vibe hasn't lasted long. West declared himself the "No. 1 rock star on the planet" during an interview with BBC Radio 1 that will air in four parts beginning Monday.

"People are going to look at this interview and say, 'Hey, I understand what he's talking about,' West says in a newly released clip from the interview. "People are going to look at this interview and say, 'I don't like Kanye. He looks mad; I don't like his teeth.' We the real rock stars, and I'm the biggest of all of them."

TV presenter and radio DJ Zane Lowe conducted the interview in the U.K. It will air nightly from Monday through Thursday.

When he appeared on "Kris" in August, West was all smiles -- something he must realize, given his remark about viewers now thinking he's "mad." The rapper unveiled the first photo of North West and was in an uncharacteristically mellow mood. We're going to guess he softened a bit for dear ol' (unofficial) mama-in-law. West appears to be in usual form again in the forthcoming interview series, so no need to fear a return of softball Kanye.

"'Dark Fantasy' could be considered to be perfect," West also says in the excerpt, referring to 2010's acclaimed "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy." "I know how to make perfect, but that's not what I'm here to do."

While in the U.K., West also performed "Bound 2," "New Slaves" and "Blood on the Leaves" on "Later... With Jools Holland." Watch his acoustic rendition of "New Slaves" below.
