Kanye West's Fashion Show Not Happening This Season

Kanye West's Paris Fashion Week Show Isn't Happening This Season

Fashion's a brutal world. As the sagely Heidi Klum hath taught, one day you're in and the next day, you're out.

Kanye West is learning that the hard way. The rapper-cum-designer-cum-reality TV guest star will not be showing his fashion collection at Paris Fashion Week, Women's Wear Daily reports, prompting questions about the overall health of his label.

West first debuted as a bona fide designer in October 2011, showing a Spring 2012 collection full of edgy black and white outfits to an audience that included heavyweights like Carine Rotifeld, Stefano Tonchi, Anna Wintour and even the Olsen twins. His second collection for Fall 2012, also presented in Paris, was modeled by the likes of Karlie Kloss, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Chanel Iman and Jourdan Dunn.

Yet critical reception was skeptical at best and the clothes never hit stores. The only piece we actually saw anyone wear were those wacky furry bootie heel things, made in collaboration with Giuseppe Zanotti and retailing for a cool $6,000. (They're also apparently really uncomfortable.)

Now reps from Karla Otto, the PR agency working with West, have confirmed that he will not be presenting a Spring 2013 collection. While no one will say whether West's collection is continuing or not, skipping Fashion Week after just two seasons can't bode well for the line.

Whatever will we do without our $6,000 bootie-heels??
