Karen Klein Responds To Apologies, Says Boys 'Can Do Better'

Karen Klein: 'I Think They Can Do Better'

Despite the well-wishes she's received from people around the world and being set to receive more than half a million dollars from a donation campaign, Karen Klein, the bullied bus monitor from Greece, N.Y., wants something she sees as much more important -- a better apology from the boys who harassed her, TMZ reports.

"I am so sorry for the way I treated you," Josh, one of the boys in the upsetting video, said in an police-issued statement. "When I saw the video I was disgusted and could not believe I did that. I am sorry for being so mean and I will never treat anyone this way again."

But apparently that statement isn't enough for Klein and her daughter, who told TMZ they're not yet ready to offer forgiveness.

"I think they can do better," Klein said, according to the site.

Klein has always maintained she doesn't want any serious punishments levied upon the boys. Nevertheless, they and their families have received death threats after the bullying video became national news.

"You've got to remember. He's a thirteen-year-old kid," Robert Helms, the father of one of the boys involved, told ABC News. "It was a stupid mistake and he's paying for it."
