Kate Bolduan's Mother Faces Jail Time For Drunk Driving: New York Post

CNN's Newest Host Faces Devastating News

CNN's new morning show host Kate Bolduan is facing some devastating news.

The New York Post reported on Friday that Bolduan's mother Nadine faces up to a year in jail time for driving under the influence almost a year ago and crashing into another vehicle. The other driver suffered head trauma and broken bones.

The Post also reported that, "The jail sentence comes 20 years after Nadine was charged with reckless homicide after her jet ski struck two little girls, killing a 9-year-old and injuring a 10-year-old, according to police reports. The charges were dismissed."

CNN named Kate Bolduan its newest morning show host last month. She will sit alongside Chris Cuomo. The still unnamed show will debut this spring.

Bolduan is hardly the first person in the news business to be affected by legal troubles. To name just two examples, The New York Times' David Pogue and his ex-wife Jennifer were arrested after a domestic dispute that reportedly escalated in May 2011. Also, veteran ABC News reporter Sam Donaldson was arrested in December 2012 for driving under the influence.
