Kate Upton: Victoria's Secret Comments Didn't Bother Me (VIDEO)

Kate Upton may have won swimsuit modeling's biggest prize: the cover of Sports Illustrated's annual Swimsuit Issue. But Sophia Neophitou, creative force behind the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, had to go rain on the 19-year-old model's parade, telling the New York Times:

"She's like a footballer's wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy."

But nobody sasses Upton like that. During an interview with Access Hollywood, Upton responded, "I didn't even try out for the runway show. But also, I don't think that anything she said was that mean."

Really?

"Well, 'football player's wife'... Gisele's a football player's wife -- I'm OK! Gisele's in that category, I'm good."

(We're pretty sure Neophitou was referring to soccer players' wives, not American football. But why argue over semantics?)

Kate added, "It's all good -- she can think that, I can think whatever I want to think about her."

Upton also sounded off on her oft-mentioned curves, which are totally normal in any context except the world of swimsuit modeling. The blonde Midwesterner simply said, "I love my curves. You know, I'm healthy and I think that's what Sports Illustrated represents: healthy, confident women who love their bodies."
