Katharine Hepburn would've been 106 today -- and we don't doubt that the feistiest of the Old Hollywood-era stars would still be going strong. (And, you know, doing things like swimming in Connecticut during the dead of winter.) And to this author, this is a holiday. We have all the books one can possibly own about Hepburn, occasionally turning to her photos and quotes when we need guidance about anything from the most stylish way to wear pants to the secret to a loving relationship.
Yet, the real life lessons could be found in one of her many fabulous on-screen roles. Here they are:
Lesson #1: Always be honest about one's feelings, even if you're facing someone as handsome as Cary Grant. (Also: Add a statement collar for extra flair.)
Lesson #2: Revenge can be the small, subtle gesture delivered with a smile.
Lesson #3: Take advantage of every opportunity.
Lesson #4: Fit in exercise when you can.
Lesson #5: Dance like no one's watching, and knock over couches like no one cares.
