Katie Couric Interviews Prince William, Harry For ABC News Special

Katie Couric has scored a big interview with Prince William and Prince Harry for ABC News.

Couric spoke with the two royals about their grandmother in the lead-up to Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee. The celebration marks the 60th anniversary of their grandmother's ascension to the throne.

"Behind closed doors, she's our grandmother, it's as simple as that," Harry told Couric.

"As I learned from growing up, you don't mess with your grandmother," William said.

Couric met with each of them one-on-one. The preview shows her talking with William at Clarence House, where he lives with wife Kate, and with Harry in Brazil.

Couric's big get comes as she prepares to debut her new daytime show in September. The last time an American reporter interviewed one of the princes, according to USA Today, was in March when Harry chatted with CBS News' Seth Doane. The first time they both sat down with an American journalist was five years ago, with Matt Lauer.

Couric's interview will air in a two-hour edition of "20/20" entitled "The Real Queen: By Her Own Royal Family.” It airs Tuesday, May 29 at 9 p.m.
