Katie Couric In Talks For Yahoo! Web Show: Report

Katie Couric's New Suitor

Katie Couric is reportedly in talks with Yahoo! to host a web interview show, All Things D's Kara Swisher reported Thursday.

Sources told Swisher that Yahoo! CEO Marissa Meyer is personally involved in the negotiations with Couric, which have also grown to include senior executives from ABC. The show would feature Couric doing interviews with celebrities and other public figures for yahoo.com.

The potential deal makes sense given that ABC, Couric's network, and Yahoo! already have a partnership for news. As Swisher pointed out, Yahoo! already has a "Katie's Take" section, which consists of video clips and blog posts about Couric's daytime show.

It is unclear what stage the talks are in, though sources said that the two organizations would need to figure out how Couric would balance her obligations to each one.

Meanwhile, Couric is gearing up for the second season of her show, which starts in September, with a new executive producer in charge. Despite several big staff shakeups, the program was the highest-rated freshman talk show last season.
