Katie Holmes 'Dawson's Creek' Reunion: Tom Cruise Nixed Plans

Tom Cruise Reportedly Nixed 'Dawson's Creek' Reunion

Katie Holmes wanted to a do a "Dawson's Creek" reunion. The problem? According to Us Weekly, Tom Cruise nixed the idea.

Could that change now that Holmes has filed for divorce from Cruise? A source told the magazine that Holmes wanted to reunite with her former co-stars James Van Der Beek and Joshua Jackson to have "fun" and "reconnect with her fans," but Cruise vetoed the plan and urged Holmes to leave the past in the past.

In November 2011, Holmes told Robin Roberts she would return to the "Creek."

“It would be fun," Holmes said on “Good Morning America.” "I had so much fun working on that show and I loved everyone so much and I think about it with such fond memories. A really great group of people.”

While promoting his new ABC series "Don't Trust The B---- in Apartment 23" in April, Van Der Beek told Kelly Ripa that there weren't any concrete plans for a "Dawson's Creek" reunion project.

"I feel like this is the number one question that we get asked. Nobody's producing it, nobody's writing it, it's just something that comes in press," he said.

"I would love that," he said. "There aren't any in Season 1 so it would have to be Season 2. Knock wood. If we get picked up for Season 2, I would love that. I think it'd be great." "Don't Trust the B----" returns to ABC this fall.

Meanwhile, Michelle Williams, who played Jen on The WB series, has gone on record saying that she would happily participate in a reunion. "He [Van Der Beek] could totally ask!" Williams told Vulture. "I've always said, I'm totally up for reunion tours, reunion shows, so we can do that." The only problem? Williams' character died on the show, a fact that Van Der Beek poked fun at when sizing up a reunion's possibilities.

"Michelle Williams is always like, 'Absolutely!' I think because her character is dead," he quipped.

Jackson hasn't been shy about returning to his "Creek" days either. In 2010, the "Fringe" star held Pacey-Con, a "Dawson's Creek" alternative to Comic-Con. Check out photos here.

With the key parties seemingly on board, could we finally see a return to Capeside? Only time will tell.
