Now that her Broadway play has closed, some have questioned if the Big Apple will remain home for actress Katie Holmes, or if she will head back to Los Angeles. However, Katie has made it clear that she has no plans to say goodbye to New York anytime soon. “This is her home,” Katie’s publicist tells The Huffington Post, which should come as little surprise considering her daughter is enrolled in New York’s Avenues school. “Katie is in love with this city. After being very isolated while married to Tom, she is now enjoying single life in New York,” says a friend of the actress. “She knows all the cool spots to eat, meet friends or hang out. She's become a real-life version of Carrie Bradshaw as far as her love affair with the city.” Katie has been photographed all over New York, taking the subway and yellow taxis, grabbing ice cream with Suri at Sundaes and Cones, and walking around her Chelsea neighborhood. “Suri will continue to travel to see her dad, Tom Cruise, when she is on vacation from school. But wherever Katie lives, so does her daughter,” says one insider. “Obviously, Katie might have to travel when she is working but for the foreseeable future, New York will be home base.”
